Virginia gives stakeholders tool to understand the impact of forest cover

The Virginia Department of Forestry has developed an application called InFOREST to enable city and county planners, landowners or anyone interested in understanding how land-cover changes impact nutrient and sediment loading to Virginia streams and rivers.

It provides useful information that shows developers how to reduce their pollutant loadings by 50 percent and show counties how to help landowners minimize impacts to drinking water reservoirs.
