FY17 Urban and Community Forestry Appropriations Request

In fiscal year 2015, the Urban and Community Forestry Program served more than 200 million people in more than 7,700 communities of all sizes across the United States through the development and maintenance of local urban forestry programs.

The Sustainable Urban Forests Coalition (SUFC) recently requested that funding allocated in Fiscal Year 2017 for the USDA Forest Service’s Urban and Community Forestry Program be $31.3 million. SUFC is a coalition composed of NASF and more than 30 other national organizations that, along with the USDA Forest Service, assists communities in planting and maintaining trees and green infrastructure in the places where people live.
