The National Association of State Foresters annually recognizes individuals and organizations who have made a significant impact on state and private forestry at the national level.

NASF’s Current Achievement Awards recognize accomplishments in seven areas of state and private forestry:
- Current Achievement for Fire Protection
- Current Achievement for Forest Resource Management
- Current Achievement for Urban Forestry
- Current Achievement for Communications
- Current Achievement for Leadership
- Current Achievement for Legislation
- Current Achievement for Partnerships
Current Achievement Awards are presented to one or more deserving State Foresters, members of a State Forester’s staff, individuals or organizations who partner in the protection and sustainable management of America’s forests.
NASF’s 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to one or two deserving individuals who have contributed significantly to forestry over an extended period of time. This award could be presented to a deserving state, federal or private individual. This award shall be awarded for efforts towards state and private forestry at the national level and not recognition for state or local work.
