The newest member of the NASF team has arrived in DC!
Mikayla Manthiram is a student at Michigan State University double majoring in forestry and anthropology with minors in integrated leadership and sustainability. She is very excited to be working with NASF this summer and can’t wait to learn the ins and outs of state forestry policy.
In order to be an asset to NASF’s members and staff, Mikayla plans to approach her work with vigor and enthusiasm. Her main goal for the summer is to learn about major factors that influence forest policy.
Born and raised in the beautiful state of Michigan, Mikayla developed her love for the outdoors early on with frequent camping trips to her favorite campsite, D-A Scout Camp. Through scouting she was able to learn more about forests and the best practices that help keep nature beautiful and healthy. In time, Mikayla hopes to turn her love for forests into a life-long career in forest management and policy.
